We’re looking for a Quality & Claims Coordinator to play a critical role in ensuring fruit quality is accurately reported, claims are professionally managed, and grower relationships are protected.
This is more than a reporting role — it’s a high-impact position at the heart of quality operations.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
Quality Operations Excellence
- Ensure every fruit arrival, claim, ageing, or process has a completed quality report
- Distribute reports to growers/departments within 48 hours
- Communicate proactively with quality inspectors regarding inspection schedules
- Create system-backed inspections when physical inspections don’t occur
- Maintain accurate system entries across platforms
Tracking & Visibility
- Maintain and update the master inspection tracking document
- Identify and flag quality concerns from origin to destination
- Escalate issues to inspectors and the quality committee
- Maintain detailed records and structured follow-up actions
Claims Management (End-to-End Ownership)
- Handle all pre-claims and claims centrally
- Open and manage full claim files, including documentation and timelines
- Coordinate surveys and insurance inspections
- Block inventory when required
- Track all claim-related expenses
- Close claims with final liquidation details (QM approval required)
Process & Inventory Control
- Initiate and oversee fruit processes from formal request through approval
- Update ERP systems (including waste, materials, special charges)
- Identify priority pallets for action or shipping
- Monitor inventory ageing daily and report action-required pallets
- Request re-inspections when parameters are exceeded
Reporting & Strategic Insight
- Weekly reporting to the strategic team on:
- Quality-on-arrival performance
- Open and closed claims
- Inventory ageing status
- Process performance metrics
What We’re Looking For
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree or Graduate Certificate in: Business Administration, Business Analysis, Engineering, Agronomy or related field
Experience
- Minimum 3 years in fresh fruit, production, quality control, or inventory control
- Hands-on experience in: Quality inspections, Claims handling, Operational QA, Fresh-produce environment experience is essential
- Prior quality control exposure required
